Is it neccessary to get a travel insurance to the Netherlands?

This is a voluntary option. The applicant is insured from the first day of work.

What contract is signed at HOBIJ, in Lithuania and in the Netherlands?


A (preliminary) contract is governed in Lithuania, while the employment contract is concluded on the spot in the Netherlands.

Does HOBIJ help to get a Sofi Number (BSN)?

Yes. A HOBIJ Employee and his candidate go to the Dutch office to get this number. The agency also helps when a person already has a BSN number, but has no confirmation document. In this case the document need to be duplicated (the costs are for the candidate).

What happens on the first day of your arrival in the Netherlands?

Everyone arrives at the HOBIJ office in the Netherlands, where all paperwork is done, including signing the contract, making a sofi number, etc. Then the candidate is transported to the accommodation and informed about the date of commencement.

What time should I arrive in Hobij's office in the Netherlands?

The Dutch office is open from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm (Monday to Friday). Therefore, please always arrive in the morning on working days. In exceptional situations, individual dates of arrival with both the candidate and the office in the Netherlands can be arranged.

At what time does a shift start and end?

Due to the fact that every company has different departments that start and end at different hours, there are no standard start and end times.

What are the accommodation conditions and how do you get to work?

There are different types of accommodation: employee hotels, bungalows, cottages, flats and townhouses (depending on the specific company and the offer). The rooms usually contain 2 to 3 people. You get to work on a bicycle or a business vehicle (depending on the distance to the work place).

What is the minimum period of stay in the Netherlands?

It is required to stay for a minimum of 6 months (unless otherwise stated).

Does HOBIJ pay for pension contributions?

Yes, after 6 months of work.

What bank account does an employee need?

The agency does not impose what account the person should have, but we encourage you to set up a foreign exchange account (this way you don't need to pay for the costs of currency conversion).

Is it possible to work half-time / one shift / only on weekends?

The offers and types of work are mostly fulltime and require full availability and flexibility.

Does an employer require English language skills?

In most of the offers, English is required at min. A2 / B1 (communicative level) unless the offer states otherwise.

When do I receive holiday payment?

Holiday money get's paid 6-8 weeks after the last payment at the end of the job.

How long is the notice period?

Please always inform in advance about your plans to quit, preferably 2-3 weeks before, so that the agency can find a new replacement.
